Spring 2025 edition of "Mystery Bound"

Brrrrr. What a winter! Welcome to my winter "Mystery Bound" newsletter.

That’s not blue water in these photographs. It’s ice as far as you can see. About eight miles across the upper Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Frozen waves and huge chunks of ice. If you’re a snow bird or a Caribbean traveler, don’t tell me you’re wearing shorts. I really don’t want to hear about it.

I admit I’ve been more than neglectful in sending you a newsletter recently. I was holed up in my study finishing my fourth manuscript for my Chesapeake Bay Mystery Series. It’ll be available in late March. I realize it’s not a great excuse, but an excuse.

An Inspiration

A lot of readers inspired me with their requests to center a mystery around a vineyard and I listened. Villain in the Vineyard is my next book, and this time crime takes place in a very snowy February. Our favorite amateur detective, Helen Morrisey, has to track down a killer and the cold doesn’t make it any easier for her. I’ll be sure to give you an early peek at the cover once it’s finalized by the publisher.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner. This weather gives you a great excuse to cuddle up in front of the fireplace with my first three mysteries and a hot tea. Our sleuth would likely choose red wine.

My door is always open. Stay safe, stay warm, and don’t forget to check on each other.
